Demand for hotel rooms in Amsterdam is high during conferences and other events, and certainly in August. Our advice is to make your reservation far in advance to be sure of having the best possible choice from among the various hotels.
Use the online reservation system of the Amsterdam RAI Hotel & Travel Service. This allows you to search for hotels by star rating and area, view a map showing the location in relation to Amsterdam RAI, and find detailed information about each hotel. On the booking site you will find additional information concerning the hotels, facilities, rates, locations and pictures. Discounted room rates at the official hotels are limited so don't delay with booking your hotel as the demand for rooms in Amsterdam is high during the EARLI 2009. For individual reservation you can cancel 2 days prior to arrival (before 16:00 hrs - CET). See the exact cancellation conditions as mentioned below:

- Please note: On the Hotel Map in the booking site VU University is indicated with number 21, near the VU Hospital. The booking site is related to events that take place in the RAI Congress Centre. That means that the public transport as shown on this Hotel Map is not relevant for you. Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellations should always be made to the RAI Hotel & Travel Service directly and can only be accepted in writing or online. All cancellations will be charged an administrative fee of EUR 15. Cancellations should be received before 16:00 hrs (CET) 2 days prior to arrival. Cancellations for reservations with arrival on Monday and Tuesday should be received by Friday before 16:00 hrs (CET). For cancellations and no-shows within that period the hotel is entitled to charge one room night fee. In case of no-show your room will be cancelled 12 noon the following day.
Special Requirements
In case the hotel of your choice is not available, or if your reservations are outside the showdates please send your special requirements per e-mail to the Amsterdam RAI Hotel Service & Travel Service on hotelservice@rai.nl. Amsterdam RAI Hotel Service & Travel Service is able to make reservations in nearly all hotels in Amsterdam.
