Conference diner

Since the start of EARLI, we have always acknowledged the importance of a good balance between work and leisure. A highlight in our social activities program during EARLI 2009, is the conference dinner taking place on Friday August 28, 2009. We have chosen for a typical Dutch location, Volendam, where you will get a taste of authentic Holland, combined with excellent cuisine.

"Anyone who wants to see the real beauty of Holland, goes to Volendam". As a result of its completely insulated location, this village preserved its character for six centuries, also because of the tough vitality of the fishermen. The characteristic small houses, which together with the canals and the drawbridges form the most picturesque spots and an atmosphere of geniality and romance.

With busses, leaving from different locations and times from Amsterdam, we will travel in 30 minutes to the beautiful town of Volendam. You will have time to explore the village on foot before enjoying a fine dinner at the Spaander restaurant. After dinner, busses will leave at different times, bringing you safely back to Amsterdam. The busschedule will be posted at the conference.

Included in the price of 75 euro: transportation, all food and drinks and the possibility to visit Volendam! Dresscode: city clothing.
