DRINKS

Brewery, located in an old wind mill,
where you can drink real Amsterdam beer.
 
• The central library (Centrum)

The Amsterdam Public Library is a cultural establishment whose aim is the promotion of the free passage of information within the community of Amsterdam. Free internet access. You can have a drink on top of the building where you have a view at the river IJ and a large part of the city.

• Papeneiland (Centrum)

A cafe in a house that was built in 1641. The interior has many historical details. The ward loves to tell you about it’s history. It’s always filled with friendly locals.

• Comedy Cafe (Centrum)

Hollands oldest stand up comedy cafe, with weekly the best comedians from Holland and abroad (usually English spoken).

• Friday night skate (start: Centrum)
(http://www.fridaynightskate.com/, gathering: Friday 20.00h at the round bench by the Film museum in the Vondelpark.)
Every Friday throughout the year (if the streets are dry) a skate tour in Amsterdam of about 20 Kilometers. Anyone can join in for free under the condition that you are skilled skater who is able brake well. The finish is around 22.30h. You may rent skates including protection at the Vondeltuin (www.vondeltuin.nl, Vondelpark 7) for 10 euro’s. On Friday August 21 you can join a special Skate&Date if you're looking for romance.

• House boat museum (Centrum)

A unique chance to personally experience how exactly life is on board a houseboat in an Amsterdam canal.
